navigating the school
Discover the essential tips for navigating the school, finding classrooms, and maximizing your Year 7 experience at JCoSS in the text bellow:
At JCoSS there are 6 blocks:
A Block where the 6th Form, Media and PSRP (Pears Special Resource Provision) is.
B Block where Maths, Geography, History, English, Languages and JE (Jewish Education).
C Block where Science and the SLT (Science Lecture
Theatre) is.D Block where Art, Music, Drama, P.E and DT (Design Technology) is.
E Block A Block with 2 outside classrooms mostly used for room changes.
H Block where the bridge is.
As you enter the building, you’ll encounter the central area known as the Heart Space. The Heart Space is surrounded by the blocks mentioned earlier. Above the Heart Space, there is a bridge that provides access to blocks with additional floors, as many blocks have multiple levels. To ensure smooth movement between blocks, there is a one-way system in place, allowing for efficient navigation without any blockages.
At the beginning of the school year, you will receive a timetable that indicates the different rooms you need to locate. For instance, a room like “C105” refers to a room in C Block, located on the first floor, and numbered as room 105. Each room is clearly marked with a room number displayed above the door, making it easier for you to identify the correct room.
Additionally, JCoSS provides a dedicated playground exclusively for Year 7 students. This separate playground ensures that the Year 7 area remains less crowded, and it is conveniently located near the canteen and lunch area.
If all of this seems confusing at first, don’t worry! With time, you will become familiar with the school’s layout and develop expertise in navigating the different blocks and rooms.
