A:  At JCoSS, we’ve got a fantastic mix of forms that make up our vibrant school community. You might find yourself in 7B, 7F, 7N, 7R, 7S, 7W, 7Y, or 7Z. The best part? These forms are sorted randomly, giving you a great chance to meet new friends and build amazing connections!

Even if you don’t have a friend in your specific form, no worries at all! You’ll still have plenty of opportunities to hang out with your buddies throughout the day. Whether it’s in classes like Ivrit, Maths, Art, Drama, Music, Informal Jewish Education (RS/IJE), Jewish Education (JE), Physical Education (PE), or Design Technology (DT), you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see familiar faces and friendly smiles. You might even discover shared interests and passions with your classmates along the way!

Of course, break times and lunchtimes are perfect moments to catch up with all your friends, regardless of which form they’re in. You’ll have a chance to chat, laugh, and share exciting stories while enjoying some well-deserved downtime.

A:  At the start of the year at JCoSS, you will be assigned a locker near your form room. These lockers can be found either in C block or, for 7N students, in H block. It is important to note that you will need to purchase either a lock with a key or a combination lock to secure your locker.

Having a locker offers several benefits. You can use it to store your coat, eliminating the need to carry it with you throughout the entire day. Additionally, you can keep your Design Technology (DT) equipment in your locker. Just remember to retrieve your equipment otherwise you might get a C1.

A:  At JCoSS there is a wonderful library known as the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) that is filled with a vast collection of books. The library is conveniently located next to the reception area (the office). During break times and lunchtimes, you have the opportunity to visit the library.

Every two weeks, as part of your English lessons, you will have the chance to visit the library and explore books that capture your interest. Additionally, you can borrow books from the library to enjoy at your leisure. If you would like to borrow a book, simply approach the librarian, who will guide you through the process.

A:  JCoSS celebrates numerous festivals and parties throughout the year. Let’s explore some of the highlights:

One of the exciting events is the JCoSS disco, which takes place at the beginning of the year. It’s a lively gathering where you can dance and enjoy the music with your friends.

Purim is another festive occasion at JCoSS, where you have the opportunity to dress up all day. On this special day, the regular timetable is set aside, and a variety of enjoyable activities are organized. You can learn how to hula hoop, participate in circus-themed activities, and engage in a day filled with fun.

Yom Ha’atzmaut, the celebration of Israel’s Independence Day, is also a memorable festival. During this time, a vibrant fun fair is set up during lunch. You can indulge in treats like candy floss, slushies, and enjoy various mini-games and activities.

These are just a few examples of the many festivals and parties held at JCoSS. There are numerous other celebrations and events that you can look forward to throughout the year. Each occasion offers a unique experience and an opportunity to come together as a community and have a great time.

A:  At JCoSS, we offer various music clubs for students to participate in during lunch times. Additionally, there are music clubs where you can choose to learn how to play a musical instrument. However, please note that to join these clubs, you may need to be excused from one of your regular lessons. The duration of these clubs is typically around 20-30 minutes.

In addition to music clubs, JCoSS provides a range of extra-curricular clubs for students. These include Art Club, Choir (focused on music), Coding Club, Homework Club, Krav Maga, Football (available during lunchtimes for students at the Astro), Dance Club, Table Tennis Club (held after school), and Ukulele Club (music).
